For the last 15 years Vaughn was Executive Vice President 
for Corporate Accounts and directed Freeman’s Sales and Marketing Team of 20 in the Corporate Events Market. Under 
his direction The Freeman Companies produced annually more 
that Seventy Five Million Dollars in the Corporate Event and Incentive Market worldwide.

From 1960 through 1972 Don was Vice President for meetings 
and conventions for Kiwanis International and National 
Association of Home Builders; two of the largest convention 
and exhibitions in the nation during an important time of rapid growth of the conventions and meetings business. Vaughn 
Served as Vice President of the Astrodomain Corporation in Houston, managing the Astrodome and Astrohall for all 
Convention and events from 1970-1975.

Throughout his career, Don has worked for promotion of the meetings and exhibition industry and has held numerous 
leadership positions among its professional associations.

Since his retirement from Freeman in 2005, Vaughn has served 
as a consultant on several new Convention Centers and 
Convention Center Hotel projects as a design, operations and marketing consultant.

His honors include the International Association for Exposition Management (IAEM) William Hunt Eisenman Award, Exhibit Designers and Producers Association (EDPA) Hazel Hayes 
Award, Exhibition Services & Contractors Association (ESCA) Distinguished Service Award, Healthcare Convention & 
Exhibitors Association (HCEA) Distinguished Service Award, 
and he is a Convention Liaison Council (CLC) Hall of Leaders member.
